City seeks input on bicycle routes, facilities and cycling experiences

From City of Bellingham

City officials are using online tools, meetings and other public involvement techniques to gather people’s experiences and opinions about bicycling in Bellingham, to help shape the City’s Bicycle Master Plan.
April 23 Open House
An open house is scheduled for 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. April 23 in the Whatcom Middle School Auditorium to learn more about the Bicycle Master Plan and ways the public can be involved in it. More details about Bicycle Master Plan open house.

Interactive bike map, electronic survey
Comments about people’s bicycling experiences will be accepted online until May 12, using an interactive bike map and an electronic survey. For more information and to weigh in using these online tools, visit the Bicycle Master Plan page of the City website.

Public participation is critical to shaping the City’s plan to improve bicycling and provide more support for “active,” city-wide modes of transportation. The BellinghamBicycle Master Plan will identify strategies for creating a safe, well-connected network of bicycle facilities and supportive programs to make bicycling a viable transportation choice for all. Once adopted, the bike plan will be incorporated into the Transportation Element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
