The yellow dashed line indicates an existing foot path where we plan to place gravel as a maintenance activity. We plan to do this maintenance later this year (2012 or early 2013).
The magenta dashed line indicates a section of existing trail we are planning to improve. Construction is anticipated to begin May 2013, and we expect the work to take a month to complete.
The improvement project runs between the intersection of the existing earth trail and Racine Street and extend about 2,300 feet to the south mostly along the existing path alignment. 270 feet of new trail will be constructed where we want to achieve gentler grades.

Current Project
|
|
Main north-south trail distance
|
About 2800' of trail between Racine and the
point at which the existing footpath really gets steep.
|
Only 2,235' of trail will be constructed
starting at Racine thence southward.
|
Main north-south trail alignment
|
Follows existing foot path except where the
proposed trail diverges from the existing footpath for approx. 200' just
south of Racine Street and 347' at the south end of the project. Running the
proposed trail from the existing foot path occurs where grades are too steep.
|
Same as Column B, except the proposed trail
work ends 2,235' from Racine Street.
|
Wetland Buffer Mitigation
|
Appropriate for impacts of a 4' wide x 2800'
long trail where it passes through wetland buffers.

Trail to Reveille Street
|
Existing foot path between Reveille and main
north-south footpath just south of Temple Beth Isreal site; no activity in
this location was presented.
|
Add gravel surface to existing foot path
between Reveille Street where this foot path meets the main north-south
trail project.
