Looking for Ways to Serve Your Community?

Vacancies exist on several citizen committees that advise the City on important, high-profile topics, including Lake Whatcom watershed protection, community development and housing needs, and more.


Vacancies on City boards, commissions and committees offer Bellingham citizens rich opportunities to serve their community. The advisory groups listed below have vacancies as of Feb. 28, 2012. Some vacancies have additional requirements, such as professional memberships, expertise in particular areas, or residence in certain neighborhoods.

Candidates for these positions must be current residents of the State of Washington, and have been so for at least three years. Unless otherwise specified, candidates must presently live within Bellingham City limits and have done so for at least two years, and be registered voters and a U.S. citizens.
