Visit the Backyard Habitat & Native Flora Fair 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Fairhaven Village Green to learn
about attracting wildlife into your yard and creating a beautiful place for you
and the wildlife to enjoy.
This annual family event features a native plant sale by our
local chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society. Experts will be available
to answer questions about what to plant in your yard. Other activities include
a nature walk, hands-on activities for kids, building a nesting box for
cavity-nesting birds, learning about noxious weeds and how to certify your yard
to be a wildlife habitat, and more!
This event is free and is sponsored by Bellingham Parks
& Recreation Department, Washington Native Plant Society and North Cascades
Audubon Society.
