City seeks input on Boulevard Park shoreline design at May 9
meeting
Bellingham Parks & Recreation is seeking input on the
design of shoreline improvements at Boulevard Park. The shoreline is eroding
away as a result of ineffective shoreline armoring. Proposed improvements
include removing concrete rubble along portions of the shoreline, creating a
sand & gravel beach, and placing rocks below the high tide mark.
A public meeting is scheduled 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Bellingham City Hall Council Chambers, 210 Lottie
Street. Information on environmental permitting, site constraints, budget and
preliminary design drawings will be presented at this meeting. The formal
presentation will be followed by a public comment period.
This public meeting is a follow-up to previous public
meetings held in 2008 and 2011. In 2008, a feasibility study was presented for
review and comment. In 2011, preliminary concept drawings were presented for
review and comment.
