Next week’s Waterfront Information Fair at City Hall and a City Council overview presentation kick off several weeks of opportunities for people to learn more about proposed plans to redevelop Bellingham’s downtown waterfront.
July 15: Waterfront Committee presentation
At 1 p.m. July 15, City and Port staff will provide an overview presentation to the Bellingham City Council’s Waterfront/Downtown Development Committee of the proposed Waterfront District Sub-Area Plan and related documents. This presentation will be aired lived on BTV10 and the City website.
July 17: Waterfront Information Fair
City and Port staff will host an open-house style Waterfront Information Fair, 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 17 in the lobby of Bellingham City Hall.
Other activities planned in July and August include walking tours and boat tours.
The Bellingham City Council is expected to begin its deliberations on proposed waterfront plans in August, with an initial public hearing scheduled for August 5 and a series of work sessions planned through the summer and fall, with the goal of completing its work before the end of 2013.
